Why SignalChat?

Most social apps begin with profiles. SignalChat begins with a moment: someone is online, you're curious, and a conversation could happen right now.

A signal is the instant a connection becomes possible

Everything on SignalChat hangs off one idea: a signal means a live connection is available. Not a profile that was active last week. Not a message that might get answered tomorrow. A signal means a person is online now, camera ready, open to a conversation. When you see one, the only question left is whether you want to answer it.

That's the whole design. Browse the live lineup and pick the face that catches your attention, or open a video match and let the next signal find you. Either path ends the same way: two people, one private one-on-one video chat, no audience.

Why not another feed?

Because feeds are where conversations go to wait. You scroll, you like, you maybe message, and days pass. We wanted the opposite shape: short distance between "someone is live" and "you're talking." No feed to maintain, no persona to polish. A signal is live or it isn't — and when it is, you're seconds from a face-to-face conversation.

It also keeps things honest. On camera, people can't hide behind their best photo from three summers ago. You see the person as they are tonight, and they see you. That single constraint does more for real conversation than any matching algorithm.
